Google recently announced that its AI-based assistant is going to get some new and awesome features. Google mentioned that it's going to get support for 30 global languages including Hindi. Apart from Hindi, Google Assistant is going to receive support for many languages like Indonesian, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, and much more on Android as well as iOS devices.
Google has also planned to introduce Multilingual mode which is for people who speak 2 or more languages to help them converse naturally and freely with the Assistant.
OEM Based Features
Many OEMs like LG, Sony, and Xiaomi are working with Google to improve and enhance the performance of the Assistant more deeply into their devices so that they can add some "device specific" commands to work with their devices. This was announced by Nick Fox, Vice President of Product at Google.
Carrier-based Features
Google is also working with many carriers like Sprint, Vodafone, Koodo, and much more to introduce some Carrier-specific features such as procure plan information, add features to their plan, contact Customer Support, etc. under their Assistant Carrier programme.
Upcoming Features
Lastly, Google Assistant also announced new functionality in terms of user task management. Six new Routines that are aimed at helping people plan things better around their work schedule will be added for users in the US in the coming weeks. "For example, say "Hey Google, I'm home" and the Assistant on your Google Home or phone can turn on the lights, share any home reminders, play your favorite music and more, all with just four words."
Language support for Hindi is expected by 2018.
